Cementos Argos Launches Brand in Puerto Rico

Colombian cement and concrete manufacturer Cementos Argos officially launched its brand into the Puerto Rican market on Sept. 9. The company will be using a business model that focuses on the customer and sustainable development.

“Through this new receipt, storage and distribution terminal, we are making all of our experience, knowledge and innovation available to the local market. All of these elements together, in combination with our personalized technical advice and industrial professionalization programs, make up Argos’ value promise: support and accompaniment,” said Mauricio Ossa, vice president of Cementos Argos’ Caribbean and Central American regional division.

Argos took over the management of these facilities in May and started an integration process in order to efficiently align the new operation to its existing structure, thus ensuring unification in terms of processes and services.

Puerto Rico has become the latest step in Argos’ process of international expansion, being a country whose strategic location not only provides the company with an opportunity to enter a market that is significant to the Caribbean region but also opens the possibility of export to neighboring countries. The terminal also boosts the creation of synergies with the company’s existing operations, further driving trading activities that were already on the rise.

“Puerto Rico complements our existing logistics platform, allowing us to efficiently interconnect strategic production assets with our main markets, providing us with an enhanced level of operational flexibility that fits in perfectly with our strategy,” Ossa said.
