ACOUSTIC WAVE LEVEL SENSOR

This provider of level and flow measurement technology offers the new Sultan Series non-intrusive acoustic wave transmitter, a level sensor used to monitor the level of cement powder in a storage bin or silo. Ruggedly designed to withstand the harshest environments, the series' combination of low frequency, high power, and adaptive gain technology make it one of the world's most reliable and powerful level devices on the market.

In a cement plant, each silo contains cement of various type specifications. One or several silos will contain a particular type of cement product, and level sensors are needed to measure the levels of several different powder types in multiple stage bins. The measured distance output of the sensor (communication, relay, or analog) passes to a control system. As level changes occur in the silo, the control system will continuously monitor the sensor output. Often, the level output will be used for simple inventory management purposes.

An acoustic wave level sensor mounted in the top of the silo provides reliable, maintenance-free measurement of varied material filling and emptying profiles, even industry conditions. The Sultan series is available with several transducer sizes to meet the application requirements. The system can be remote, integral, or a Smart sensor for maximum reliability in detecting cement powder over typical distances of 10 to 160 feet from the mounting, with varied surface profiles. High or low alarm set points are often used in addition to the analog level measurement. In some cases, independent, redundant point level switch products are used for high or low level alarms, though this function can also be achieved by the Acoustic Wave instrument (using relay outputs) if required. PARTICLE SIZING SOFTWARE

A new version of Size Expert for all of the company's laser particle size analyzers is now available. New software version 0.08 features enhanced capabilities for running samples in dry dispersion mode. The software is compatible with the 21 CFR Part 11 standard for data management and allows users to view particle shape along with particle size data. The system works with the maker's 1180 system, which uses three lasers for ultra-high-resolution measurements, with a range of 0.04 to 2,500 µm. The company's patented short optical bench design ensures the system is aligned at all times. All optical components are permanently fixed to a cast-iron base plate to ensure the most accurate particle size data. The analyzer includes the patented dry jet dispersion technology for performance in both wet and dry dispersion modes, which the user can switch back and forth between with the click of a mouse. BULK BAG UNLOADERS

These bulk bag unloaders are designed to be easily customized for safe handling and clean unloading of any free-flowing dry material in bags. These unloaders are ruggedly built to support all sizes and styles of bulk bags and unload them without slippage or spills. Flow aids that lift bag sides and massage bags to ensure thorough emptying are included on basic models. Frames are constructed of heavy-duty welded and bolted tubular steel for durability and operator safety. Carbon steel 2-ton frames with hopper trays are standard. Stainless steel and epoxy coating can be ordered for all material contact points. A long list of options combined with flexibility in frame sizing allows the unloaders to be economically adapted to match specific user needs. The bag hoist can be manual, pneumatic, or electric. The trolley that pulls the suspended bag into position over the discharge hopper can be manual or motorized, according to customer preference. Hoppers come either with a vent stub for remote dust collection or with an integral bin vent mounted directly to them. The bin vent features cartridge filters and reverse air pulse cleaning that returns dust directly to the hopper, eliminating the chance of plugged lines that exists with remote collectors.

Because bag unloaders are often used to introduce minor ingredients in batching operations, the manufacturer offers load cells, iris valves, and pinch bars to monitor, control, and cut off material flow from the bags. Precision screw feeders, rotary valves, or pneumatic conveyors can be used to control material flow from the hoppers. Cyclonaire Corp., (+1) 800-445-0730
