The company's rotary actuators are said to provide precise positioning, accuracy, and repeatability in heavy-duty industrial applications, including high-power switching, gas turbines, and assembly operations, among others. Designed to deliver optimized torque in a small package, the manufacturer notes, they feature modular construction to enable cost-effective customization tailored for particular application requirements.
Further, the actuators are lubricated for life, require no maintenance, and incorporate few moving parts to promote trouble-free operation and longer service life. Compact and self-contained, they are delivered ready-to-mount for easy plug-in operation (AC or DC power supply). The actuators can achieve maximum torque up to 1,700 Nm, rotational motion ranges from 100° to 360° (depending on rack length), and speeds up to 20 rpm,
A practical alternative to conventional worm gears in effecting partial rotary motion, product developers affirm, the units virtually eliminate backlash and promote precise motion, high repeatabilty and high stiffness due to their complete preloaded ball-screw assembly and special gear-tooth profile. The rotary actuators can be customized with specialized internal and external components, including modifications to output shafts, a variety of controls, and multiple motor options. Protective Linings
Abresist fused cast basalt linings are available for use at temperatures up to 650°F. The addition of Kalcor zirconium corundum or Alresist high-alumina ceramics optimizes protection against high temperatures or extremely abrasive materials, extending service life for dust-collecting equipment, especially cyclones. Kalcret hard compound provides flexible use and temperature-resistant qualities for jointless or complicated shape component linings.
At one plant, for example, a raw-material separator's cement-based linings had a service life of three to four months. Installing Abresist linings significantly extended service life and generated an additional order for linings of two more separators at the facility. Accordingly, company representatives note that using its linings on problematic components can lead to substantial savings by extending service life while reducing the cost of replacement parts, operational downtime, plant clean-up, and maintenance work. With respect to ecological benefits, they add, suitably lined clinker kiln systems permit the use of residues containing significant heat values — often abrasive materials that normally cannot be recycled for other uses, including portions of rubber or used wood. Laser Particle Size Analyzer
The new model 1064LD Laser Particle Size Analyzer integrates wet and dry dispersion in one instrument without the need for hardware changes. The user can switch between wet- and dry-mode software with the click of a mouse. The 1064LD is fully ISO 13320-compliant, ensuring both accurate and reproducible results for the life of the instrument. The system has a measurement range from 0.04 to 500 µm. An optional video camera provides particle-shape information along with the traditional particle-size distribution data. All of the company's analyzers use an intuitive graphical interface, allowing the user to click on a picture of the component to turn that part of the system on or off. Patented short optical bench design ensures the system is aligned at all times. Optical components are permanently fixed to a cast iron base plate to provide accurate particle-size data. Level Indicator
The AutoSet MK7 provides the user with visual indication of the set values, allowing simpler on-site adjustment and set up via a push button membrane and large, four-digit LED display. The indicator is used for high- or low-level control of liquids, powders and free-flowing granular solids stored in tanks, bins and silos. Featuring a build-up compensation circuit and power-shield, the AutoSet MK7 is not affected by material buildup and can be side or top mounted. Stainless steel probes come in various lengths up to 33 ft. For high temperature or vibration applications, a remote version is also available. 4B Components, Ltd., (+1) 309-698-5611

Baghouse Controller
According to the manufacturer, the B-PAC Series of Dust-Collector Diagnostic Controllers integrates intelligent filter cleaning, pressure control, particulate monitoring, auxiliary sensing (such as fan amps, temperature, airflow) and a wide range of control functions within a single, easy-to-use system operable as a stand-alone controller or networked with existing PLCs and DCS systems. Benefits reportedly include reduced maintenance costs, lower compressed air use, energy savings and maximum product recovery. B-PACs are also used as a comprehensive solution for EPA MACT, Title V and other compliance regulations. FilterSense, (+1) 978-927-4304

Pulse Jet Air Filter
Noting that its pulse jet air filters are custom built for efficient, economical operation in demanding applications, the company reports that articulate-laden air is directed toward a deflector that causes heavier particles to fall directly into the collection hopper. Lighter airborne particles collect on outside surfaces of the internal bag filters, and filtered air exits the unit. Sequential bursts of compressed air dislodge dust on the surfaces of the bag filters, so it likewise falls into the hopper. Also available are cyclones and low-pressure reverse air, cartridge, and bin vent filters. Airlanco, (+1) 800-500-9777
