Designed for the severe operating atmospheres commonly found in packaged concrete, grout, mortar and stone facilities, this unit continues the Chantland-MHS tradition of solid reliability. Filled bags are conveyed on a wire mesh belt conveyor, through an enclosed housing wherein a high-pressure air wash, directed from above and under the bag, combines with a rotary brush assembly to quickly and efficiently remove dust and debris from bag surfaces prior to palletizing. MIST ELIMINATOR MONITOR

This company's Liquid Mist Flow Monitors are used to monitor the outlet of all types of mist eliminators for mist carryover and mist filter failure. The monitors employ an induction-sensing principle and a proprietary protected-probe to ensure reliability even in harsh environments, such as acid mist, oil mist, or water droplets in high-pressure pipes. Outputs include relay contacts, 4-20mA, Modbus and Ethernet. Benefits include environmental protection, detecting unwanted mist in process lines, and protecting downstream equipment such as vacuum pumps. FilterSense, (+1) 978-927-4304

BULK BAG UNLOADERS

New PortoVeyor bulk bag unloaders from this company provide pneumatic transfer of material from bulk bags into silos that are normally serviced by pneumatic trailers or railcars. When normal trailer and rail service is available, the skid-mounted PortoVeyor can be moved out of the way until needed again. These unloaders allow safe handling and clean unloading of any free-flowing dry bulk material shipped in bulk bags. They can be customized with optional hoists and lifting frames to support and unload all sizes and styles of bulk bags without slippage or spills. The self-contained unloaders not only open bags and convey their contents, but also clean up nuisance dust. Bulk bags empty into a receiving hopper, which is fitted with a motor-driven rotary valve that meters contents into the convey lines. An integral pulse-jet dust collector mounted above the hopper helps maintain a clean working environment and returns product dust to the hopper for transfer. A blower package also mounted on the skid supplies convey air to move material pneumatically from the hopper discharge to its destination. Frames are constructed of heavy-duty welded and bolted tubular steel. Carbon steel frames and hoppers are standard and stainless steel is also an option. The bag hoist can be manual, pneumatic, or electric. The optional trolley that places the suspended bags into position over the discharge hopper can be manual or motorized. A bag splitter mechanism cuts bags open inside the hopper to eliminate spills. Available bag massagers assist in thoroughly emptying bags without manual operator intervention. Units come with NEMA 4 controls, but controls sealed to meet other NEMA ratings, including NEMA 7/9, may be ordered. Cyclonaire Corp., (+1) 800-445-0730

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

This company has integrated BMG Seltec's site automation truck ticketing software into its Forefront construction management software, giving aggregate and asphalt suppliers and construction companies a seamless quoting-to-invoicing system. Information obtained about jobs, materials, and customers is entered into the system, where it resides in a single location for invoicing and other purposes. Information flows automatically between Forefront and BMG Seltec's applications. This integration creates a single, continuous process that eliminates multiple steps between quoting, ticketing, and invoicing. Dexter + Chaney, (+1) 800-875-1400

PARTICLE SIZE ANALYZER

This system has a new application note which explains how recent technological advances in laser particle size analyzers benefit users in the cement industry. The application note discusses the use of Certified Reference Cement to ensure accurate measurements throughout the manufacturing process. It also explains how Cilas' new dispersion technology, called dry jet dispersion (DJD), makes it easier for cement makers to work with the product in dry measurement mode. DJD technology allows fine dispersion of cement particles in low pressure and guarantees that particles will not break apart during dispersion. All Cilas analyzers, from the entry-level 930e to the 1180, use the new DJD technology, and feature an integrated wet and dry dispersion modes, which allow the user to switch between wet and dry mode in software with just the click of a mouse. The graphic interface allows the use to click on a picture of the component to turn that part of the system on or off. An optional video camera provides particle shape information along with the traditional particle size distribution data. All optical components are permanently fixed to a cast-iron base plate to ensure accurate particle size distribution data. Cilas Particle Size, (+1) 608-274-7719

AIR QUALITY BOOTH

A Gold Series booth (GSB) from this company provides a system for protecting workers from dusty environments. The GSB encloses the work environment on three sides and creates a cross draft in the work area, pulling dust away from the breathing zone and providing high-efficiency removal of nuisance dust, fumes, and other particulates. The booth encloses and isolates areas associated with industrial “dirty work” and may eliminate the need for respirators, according to the manufacturer. A feature of the GSB is a cantilevered roof over the dust-collection module, which creates a large, continuous work area without support poles, walls, fume arms, or hoods. The system can be installed by maintenance crews with no ductwork required. The modular design allows booth arrangement to accommodate airflow requirements of 5,400 to 100,000 cfm. The booth uses the company's HemiPleat filter cartridge. Farr Air Pollution Control, (+1) 800-479-6801
