The device enhances diagnostic capabilities of existing continuous-monitoring systems by connecting to protection system outputs. The company said, this allows buffered eddy current probe data acquisition without a signal-conditioning device. The Enwatch PX delivers improved diagnostics by simultaneously sampling paired channels. Monitor's SiloTrack software version 2.0 has expanded capabilities and features providing users with a flexible graphical interface for use with SiloPatrol SMU sensors, the company said. The addition of server/client capability provides inventory management to users via LAN, Internet/WAN or dial-up modem. According to the company, users of the system can be both internal and external to a facility. Seal Upgrades
Falk Renew can upgrade any existing gear drive oil leakage problem, the company said. Remedial solutions include remanufacturing the shaft sealing surface or adding a wear sleeve, using an improved seal material, adding seal protection, installing a Falk Magnum drain back sealing assembly, or modifying the gear drive to accept a labyrinth type seal. Schenck's SolidsFlow feeders utilize a one-piece vibratory feed-tray designed to accommodate the material's flow characteristics. Alstom's Raytrol-OptiMill is designed to monitor system parameters and control roller mill systems automatically, the company said. According to the company, the software goes through an initial learning procedure to build a knowledge base for processing specific material on a given pulverizing system. The software can determine the operational settings and the built-in intelligence allows the software to recognize and respond to most process problems, the company said. Managing Maintenance Data
Rockwell Automation's Maximo, a computerized maintenance management system, helps manufacturers improve maintenance operation efficiency and decrease overall maintenance costs by as much as 25%, the company said. The Maximo connection allows manufacturers to leverage existing CMMS investments by generating maintenance work orders directly from plant floor equipment, assigning responsibilities to on-site workers, and updating the status of maintenance projects. Enshare software generates automated diagnostic information reports. When the text-based recommendations are integrated with the Maximo database, the status of the work order can be tracked. The link allows maintenance specialists to see changes to work requests in one system, while automatically updating in the other when the next database reading is done, the company said. Level Sensor
Bindicator's Phase Tracker is not affected by signals reflecting off tank sidewalls and cannot be blinded by dust, the company says. According to Bindicator, its device can measure product when cross members and irregular structures interfere with through-air radar and ultrasonic measurement. In-Line Tension Load Cell
Sensotec's RMa high output in-line load cell combines linearity and hysteresis of ± 0.2% F.S. with an internally amplified 0±5 VDC or 4-20mA output, the company said. The load cell is designed to be mounted in-line to the load axis to measure tension. The unit is offered with inside and/or outside threads, including metric. According to the company, the Rma ranges form 0-2,000 to 0-50,000 lb and has a standard operating temperature from 0° to 185°F. Siemens' SITRANS LR 400 is for continuous level measurement in difficult, long-range applications on dusty solids, as well as in liquid storage. The instrument's ability to penetrate dust makes it ideal for applications on cement, fly-ash, carbon black, petroleum coke, and other dusty materials, according to the company. Dust Suppression System
Martin's Fog Cannon uses a high-powered fan and plug-free nozzles to propel a continuous stream of 77 to 110 micron particles in an air/water/additive mist that agglomerates airborne solids and prevents the escape of fugitive dust, the company said. The system provides a dust control mist with a range of up to 800 ft. According to the company, this provides effective suppression of areas of up to one million sq ft. Although the system is designed for use with chemical additives it can be used with water alone. Thermoteknix Systems' WinCem 3D allows operators to fully survey the whole of their kiln, inside and out, from any angle or position without leaving the control room, the company said. WinCem 3D is a client-server 32-bit distributed information system with user configurable windows. Each PC workstation can display live or historic shell, refractory and coating information. Sensotec's Model DV-05 In-Line Amplifier for strain-gage transducers features a plastic enclosure which mounts on a standard 35-mm DIN rail. According to the company, a shunt calibration circuit allows span adjustment without applying a known input to the sensor. Electrical connections and zero and span adjustments are front-accessible, the company said. the Model DV-05 requires 11 to 28 VDC providing a regulated, field-selectable excitation voltage to the transducer of three or five VDC. The transducer millivolt signal is amplified to a level zero to five VDC output, with a frequency response of dc to 5,000 Hz, the company said. Radar Level Transmitter
K-TEX offers a guided wave radar level transmitter that measures bulk solids and liquids with an accuracy of ± 0.20 in, according to the manufacturer. The MT2000 is said to overcome false echoes and complicated set-up normally associated with conventional non-contact radar level transmitters. The unit employs a metallic probe to act as a wave guide to direct the microwave pulses, eliminating beam divergence. Setting up the MT2000 is done via onboard push buttons, with no laptop computer or special software required. The probe can be cut to size — from 2 to 100 ft — in the field, and can operate when bent in many applications. Measurement output is via 4-20 mA, HART, or Honeywell DE. Acoustic Sensor
The Senaco AS100 acoustic sensor detects changes in high-frequency sound waves from equipment and materials in motion. It detects and reacts to changes in solids flow to warn of blockages, product absence, or equipment failure such as burst filter bags, allowing the operator to take preventative action. Operating with a Senaco CU 02 control unit, the system detects conditions of high flow, low flow, or no flow. It can be added to a control loop via a 4-20mA output. Two relays are fully programmable and independent of each other, and can be used to operate an alarm or control device. Epsilon Technologies' IR 4 measures and calculates flow, process temperature and pressure, velocity, volumetric flow, and mass flow.
