In addition to the conference presentations at International Cement '98, there will be an exhibition hall featuring more than 100 companies displaying their equipment and services for the cement industry. The expanded exhibit hours will be: Sunday, Dec. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. (held in conjunction with a cocktail reception); Monday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Tuesday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What follows is a selection of those companies with booths on the exhibit floor and details of what products or services they will have on display. (Use the exhibit hall floor plan on Page 36 to locate a specific company's booth.)

American Pfeiffer Corp. (Booth 721) offers products and services related to cement mill grinding circuits, including ball mill internals (diaphragms, mill shell liners, grinding balls); horizontal impact crushers; high-efficiency separators; and cement coolers.

Applied Research Laboratories (Booth 620) will highlight its ARL 9800 X-ray spectrometer with integrated XRD capability. Among its features are modular construction sensitivity of measurement; geometry with X-ray tube above the sample, which prevents damage to the instrument from defective samples; simple sample introduction system; up to 32 monochromators, each with its own thermal stabilization; full sequential and diffraction capabilities integrated in one multi-channel instrument cover; and gearless goniometer, which allows semi-quantitative and standardless analysis through QuantAS and UniQuant software options.

BMH Americas (Booths 606 & 608) will highlight its entire range of products and services, including sales and marketing, design, engineering, project management, procurement, quality control, field service, and commissioning. Technology to be offered will include raw material homogenization, kiln feed systems, clinker cooling technology, clinker transport, aeroslides, and pneumatic conveying systems. Terminal and stockyards systems also will be available.

Flender Corp. (Booth 708) will display a girth gear drive for tube mills; a roller press/crusher drive with a motor speed of 1,480 rpm; and 900- and 990-rpm vertical-roller grinding mill drives.

Haver Filling Systems (Booth 519) will be featuring its line of rotary bag-filling machines, the Roto-Packers; valve bag packing machines designed for bagging powdery or semi-powdery products using paper or plastic valve bags; a bag placer, which places self-closing valve bags onto spouts or rotating packing machines; vertical double-rotary feeders; linear bag applicator for in-line valve bag packing machines; and its line of Niagara screens, including scalping, reject, and flat models.

IST-Quadtek (Booth 204) will unveil is latest development in imaging pyrometry-the M554 Color Spyrometer. The system provides improved picture quality along with the combination of a true-color video camera and an integrated, multi-position scanning pyrometer. The system's filtering feature allows for on-site adjustments for each specific kiln. This can be further customized to accommodate changes in fuel, cement types, or other process changes that alter the long-term image.

Jammbco (Booth 716) has been selling and designing heat exchange systems for 25 years. The company sells specialty kiln chains, metal econoliners, and accessory hardware, all of which have been designed for greater fuel economy and increased kiln capacity.

For more than 80 years, Menardi-Criswell (Booth 425) has been providing filtration solutions and technologies. A line of filtration products for both dry filtration and liquid/solid separation will be offered. Also on display will be several new filter products, such as the Pop-Top filter bags and cages, and the Mikro-Pleat pleated filter bag. In addition, the company manufactures a line of parts, including the Mikro-Charge dust gauge used for continuous monitoring and control of particulate emission in fabric filters, stacks, cyclones, and precipitators.

Precision Industrial Constructors/Merriman Kiln and Mill Services (Booth 703) is an industrial repair company specializing in projects involving ball mills, rotary kilns, coolers, roll presses, crushers, and bucket elevators.

Resco Products (Booth 714) will be featuring the Rescobond 3000, a phosphate-bonded, chemically setting refractory castable that is prepared for use by mixing with water. It develops a quick set and can be heated shortly after installation. Rescobond's chemical bonding system provides adherence to existing refractory and can be installed by ramming, hand-packing, or vibration casting techniques.

Rexnord Corp. (Booth 312) representatives will discuss the company's line of bulk material conveying equipment and power transmission components for the cement industry. These bulk material conveying products will include chain and belt-type elevators, AFT clinker handling pan conveyors, apron feeders, and drag and flight conveyors. The power transmission components on display will include Rex-engineered chains, traction wheels, and sprockets; Rec conveyor idlers; Rex Planetgear; Link-Belt and Brook Hansen drives; and Rex and Link-Belt bearings.

Sloan Brothers (Booth 522) has created oil and grease lubricators for reciprocating or rotary vane compressors and critical mass equipment since 1922. The Watchman system offers oil or grease lubrication with fail-safe protection against lubricant interruption and is said to be accurate even at very low flow rates. The system has a 12-gal. tank, one pump, a divider block oil distribution system, and a newly designed monitor. The monitor keeps track of the block's volume and tracks cycle intervals, then displays the actual oil flow rate on an LED display. If flow is interrupted, an alarm signals and/or a shutdown is triggered.

Stanam Industries (Booth 317) provides devices to solve flow problems. The Airchoc air cannon is designed to unblock concretions, build-up from quarry through kiln, corrosion- and weight-related blockage, and cooler storage. The cannon is constructed to face temperatures as high as 2,700 degrees F and is available in a range of sizes. The company also will display a line of elevator rubber buckets, rubber obturators for vacuum dust extraction, and rubber molded parts.

Surpac Software (Booth 420) will demonstrate Quarry, its mining software for the industrial rocks and minerals industry. The software offers quarry modeling and planning, site evaluation, reserve calculation, and reclamation design. Quarry provides 3-D visualization on either PCs or laptop computers.

Trimax (Booth 305) is a full-service engineering firm specializing in all areas of industrial automation. The company is capable of involving itself in projects starting from the conceptualization through to the system design, software development, start-up, and support.

Jervis B. Webb-Materials Handling Equipment (Booth 229) specializes in custom-engineered equipment for high-temperature, abrasive, and corrosive conditions. Products include heavy-duty bucket elevators; screws; and drag and apron conveyors for cement, lime, ore, chemicals, and ash handling.
