The PCA Board of Directors has given final approval to the U.S. cement industry's voluntary goal to reduce emissions of cement kiln dust (CKD) by 60% from 1990 levels by 2020. The goal will be measured by CKD per ton of clinker and will not include targets for specific companies. More than three-fourths of PCA member companies voted on the measure, and all those who vote supported the goal. Many of those who did not vote do not produce any waste CKD. PCA will now focus its attention on tracking progress towards the goal.
