Miguel del Campo Rodriguez (Spain) is the new president of CEMBUREAU for a two-year term. He is managing director of the Spanish cement company Asland, S.A. (Lafarge Group) and has been active within CEMBUREAU for many years. In addition, Dr. Jurgen Lose (Germany), board member of Dyckerhoff A.G., was elected CEMBUREAU'S vice-president for a two-year term.

Paddy Bishop was appointed vice president of Kaiser Materials Corp., the management group in the western United States for Cornerstone Construction and Materials, a subsidiary of the Hanson Group.

John T. Giovanola was appointed community affairs manager for Kaiser Cement, and is responsible for community outreach, plant tours, and public affairs at the Permanente cement plant in Cupertino.

The new chairman of the board at the American Gypsum Association is James W. McNeer, currently operations manager for Temple-Inland Forest Products Corp. in Arkansas. The vice-chairman will be Gerard P. Carroll, senior vice president, manufacturing operations and engineering, National Gypsum Co., North Carolina.

Delbert Tanner was appointed director Western Region and vice president of RMC Industries Corp.

Fuller Bulk Handling appointed Dennis W. Larsen to managing director of the Netherlands-based Fuller Kovako BV. He had previously held sales and managerial positions for F.L. Smidth in Denmark, Mexico, and Brazil.

Global Technologies, Dallas, the parent company of Harbison-Walker Refractories Co., Pittsburgh, completed its acquisition of A.P. Green Industries. Upon closing the deal, Harbison-Walker announced the following executive appointments:

* Juan Bravo, president, Harbison-Walker Refractories Co.;

* William Micale, vice president, finance and administration;

* Jess Hutchinson, vice president, Harbison-Walker International;

* John S. Miller, vice president, North American operations;

* Melvin Wees, vice president, technology;

* Dirk Hilkmann, vice president, planning, development and minerals;

* John Kelsey, vice president, marketing;

* Lawrence Gorski, vice president, human resources; and

* J. Spegele, president, A.P.G. Lime.

Masahide Ito retired from his position as president on Onoda USA and as vice chairman and chairman of the board of the California Portland Cement Co.

James Basgall was named sales manager-Southwestern Region for Lone Star Industries. He will assume responsibility for cement sales in the company's Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas markets. Also for Lone Star, Geoffrey Seitz was appointed sales manager-Texas Region and will assume responsibility for portland and slag cement sales in Lone Star's Texas market.

David Hollingsworth joined the Michigan Concrete Association (MCA) in the new position of director of technical services and training. Hollingsworth was formerly manager of technical services for Blue Circle Cement in Detroit. The MCA also appointed Bernie Cawley, former director of marketing, to director of marketing and administration.

Jenike & Johanson, the U.S.-based powder and bulk handling specialist, announced the promotion of Thomas G. Troxel of its San Luis Obispo, Calif., office to vice president. The company also promoted Brian H. Pittenger, James K. Prescott, and Herman Purutyan to the position of senior project engineer.

Manfred Berger is the new managing director of Aumund's subsidiary Louise Fordertechnik in Germany. Berger has been with the company for more than 17 years and recently moved with the company to a new headquarters in Rheinberg.

GE Capital Railcar has named Liz Iverson to the position of executive vice president, sourcing. In this capacity, she will lead all sourcing activities throughout North America and Europe.

Michael A. Gardner has been named director of cCode services for the Gypsum Association, representing the United States and Canada.

Lynn R. Lauersdorf, chief of architectural services, State of Wisconsin Division of Facilities Development, has been elected the new chairman of the American Society for Testing Materials Committee C-12 on the Mortars and Grouts for Unit Masonry. Lauersdorf's term runs from Jan. 1999 to Dec. 1999.

Skelley and Loy, Inc. has named F. James Prisk managing director of the firm's new Morganstown, West Virginia office. Mr. Prisk and the firm plan to conduct projects relating to the A/E/C and environmental services market.
