National Building Museum spotlights design

Information highlighting the “Spotlight on Design” lecture series at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., and the role of Lafarge North America plays in sponsoring the lecture is now available online at www.nbm.org/Spotlight/website/index.html

Lafarge has been sponsoring the lecture series since February 2001. The series features a group of professionals in architecture, landscape architecture, and design. From decorative objects to office interiors, buildings to landscapes, the work presented exemplifies the latest contributions to the built environment by some of the world's most acclaimed practitioners.

Since its inception, “Spotlight on Design” has presented nearly 30 high-profile national and international leaders design and has attracted more than 8,000 attendees since Lafarge began its sponsorship.

In February 2003, Lafarge announced that it also will be sponsoring a major exhibition at the museum, scheduled to open in the summer of 2004. The exhibition, titled “Liquid Stone: New Architecture in Concrete,” will explore the ways in which contemporary architects are using concrete to create beautiful and highly original new buildings.
