Lone Star, RC Cement renamed Buzzi Unicem USA

Effective January 1, RC Cement Co., Inc., and Lone Star Industries were merged into a new company named Buzzi Unicem USA Inc. Dave Nepereny, who headed RC Cement, is President and CEO of the new company. Former Lone Star President Mike Clarke is now Executive Vice President and President of the Midwest Division.
The new company's corporate headquarters will remain at RC's office in Bethlehem, Pa. Headquarters of the Midwest Division will remain at the Lone Star location in Indianapolis.
The merger comes as Italian cement-maker Buzzi Unicem S.p.A., parent company of RC Cement, acquired Germany's Dyckerhoff AG, which owns Lone Star. Buzzi Unicem's other U.S. interest, Texas-based Alamo Cement Co., is not part of the merger.
