WEAR-RESISTANT LININGS

SAFETY TRAINING

A Safety & Task Training Program has been added to the Flexco web site (www.flexco.com) to help mine, quarry, and industrial safety managers provide task-specific training for safer, more efficient belt-conveyor maintenance procedures. Downloadable materials provide an overview of the purpose and performance of each task, giving detailed guidelines for recommended procedures plus a brief review quiz designed to improve trainee involvement and retention. Four tasks initially covered by the program include: Lockout/Tagout for control of hazardous electrical energy; Clamping A Belt to draw ends together for mechanical splice installation; Cutting A Belt to assure a straight, square belt end for optimum splice performance; and Skiving A Belt, to remove top cover for countersinking mechanical splicing flush with the belt surface. The program will continue to expand with additional task subjects.
