Lehigh Portland Cement Co. of Allentown, Pa., combined its North American cement activities under one name, Lehigh Cement Company. Therefore, affiliated cement-producing companies, such as Calveras in California; Tilbury in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia; and Inland in the Canadian prairie provinces also will adopt Lehigh Cement in their legal names.
To accompany its new name (which omits the word “portland”), Lehigh Cement adopted a new logo reflecting its connection with Germany's construction materials giant HeidelbergCement. “Although Lehigh's core product is portland cement, we provide a variety of products and services to the construction market,” said Lehigh President and CEO Helmut Erhard.
Lehigh produces approximately 12 million mtpy of cement from 13 plants in the United States and Canada.
