Lehigh sees Inland division chief change

Wayne Wagner will retire from the Calgary, Alberta-based Lehigh Inland group of cement and construction materials companies on April 30, 2007, after more than 38 years with the organization. Jim Derkatch will succeed Wagner as president and CEO, overseeing the operations of Lehigh Inland Cement Ltd., Inland Aggregates, Inland Concrete, and Inland Pipe, effective May 1, 2007. He will report to company president and CEO Helmut Erhard.

Derkatch began his career in 1970 with Inland Construction Services, where he gained knowledge about the practical application of the company's key cement, concrete, and aggregates products. He became its vice president, general manager in 1988, and also ran Inland Pipe for three years. In 1998, he was promoted to vice president, general manager of Lehigh Inland Cement and has played a major role in its sales growth, Edmonton cement plant performance improvement, and cost control.
