Lehigh joins slag association

Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Portland Cement Co. recently joined the newly formed Slag Cement Association (SCA) to promote the use of slag cement in North America. Lehigh makes Allcem, a ground granulated blast furnace slag, at several locations. Robert Pugh, Lehigh's manager — slag products in North America, serves on SCA's board of directors.
In related news, the SCA appointed Jan Prusinski its first executive director. Previously, Prusinski was program manager, soil cement/RCC pavement at the Portland Cement Association.
