With a ceremonial bell ringing, Lafarge North America President and CEO Philippe Rollier closed New York Stock Exchange trading for November 24. “Twenty years on the NYSE is a great achievement and testament to the growth and performance of our company,” he noted. In recognition of the milestone, Rollier presented the Exchange with a statuette created from the company's Tercem 3000 cement, a product developed for strength and durability. Joining Rollier on the podium for the bell-ringing ceremony was Larry Waisanan, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Lafarge N.A. NYSE executives were also present.
With origins in Canada, Lafarge N.A.'s history dates back nearly 100 years. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, the company expanded into the U.S., going public in 1983 as Lafarge Corp. The Lafarge North America identity was adopted in 2001, with Paris-based Lafarge Group continuing as a majority stock holder.
