The current cement shortage issue impacting much of the United States will be the subject of a two-day workshop organized by UK-based Intercem. The event is scheduled December 8-9, 2004 at the Omni San Diego Hotel, San Diego, Calif.
The workshop will address issues of domestic production, difficulties with imports, the decline of Asian cement, and the possible suspension of anti-dumping duties on Mexican cement as a means of temporarily relieving the shortages. An overview of the current U.S. import terminal situation also will be given, as will a spotlight on freight costs and other developments in the shipping industry. Supplemental materials such as fly ash and slag will also be a major talking point at the workshop.
Registration for the event is US$750 (before October 15), US$850 (after October 15). To register, go to Intercem's website www.intercem.com for all the necessary forms and additional details on the conference.
