In August 2002, Holcim (US) Inc. consolidated its Santee and South Atlantic sales groups into one unit, called the Carolina sales group. Thomas Thaxton, who led the Santee group, assumed the responsibility for the consolidated area, and James Barnes continued his leadership in the group as Sales Manager. The Carolina sales group includes 92,000 square miles of market coverage.
Consistent with this consolidation, the company announced in February three appointments to the Carolina sales group, which were effective Jan. 2, 2003.
Trevor Thomas becomes market manager and will relocate to Raleigh. Thomas was previously with the company's Mid-Central sales group in Cincinnati, and has seven years of cement industry sales experience. In his new role, he will focus on bulk and package product sales.
Roger Vaughan will be technical services engineer, also in Raleigh. Prior to joining Holcim, Vaughan worked for Ready Mixed Concrete Co. in Raleigh as corporate director of quality assurance. In addition, he has 15 years experience in the technical services fielding working for a variety of ready mix and cement manufacturing companies.
Ken Duncan, currently masonry specialist for the Carolina sales group, will begin handling package sales in addition to his current tech service responsibilities.
