Holcim to Expand Alternative Fuel Use at Holly Hill

Holcim (US) Inc., and its wholly owned subsidiary Energis, will expand the use of non-hazardous solid waste to supplement fossil fuels at the company's 2.2 million-mtpy-capacity Holly Hill, S.C., plant, according to a statement. The company is looking at industrial byproducts such as plastics, oil absorbents, wood, and paint solids, and consumer wastes such as off-spec or out-of-date shampoos and deodorants.
