Siemens Industrial Projects and Technical Services Group is modernizing the low-voltage distribution equipment and automation system at Garadagh Cement, Garadagh, Azerbaijan. The cement plant, located east of Baku, has an annual capacity of about 1.2 million tons.

The Center of Competence Cement of Siemens will plan, supply, and install the LV distribution system for the first phase of the modernization project. The process control will be implemented with the Siemens Cemat automation system and subcontrols. The modernized systems are due to be commissioned before the end of the year.
