Florida Rock Industries has selected Pavilion Technologies to improve the production process at its Newberry, Fla., facility. The company will deploy Pavilion's model predictive control (MPC)-based cement grinding application to increase production while reducing energy consumption and quality variability. Florida Rock is the ninth cement maker in the last 12 months to choose Pavilion's Cement Solution.

Pavilion estimates that Florida Rock will increase production 5.0%, reduce specific power consumption 2.0%, and reduce Blaine standard deviation 15% to 30%.

“Pavilion's technology will give us more control of our processes, which will result in higher quality products, increased operational efficiencies, and increased profitability,” said Florida Rock Plant Manager Chris Horner.
