Bryan Lane of River Cement is the first recipient of a Portland Cement Association-funded scholarship for Purdue University's Continuing Education Cement Manufacturing Technology concentration. PCA's Manufacturing Technical Committee (MTC) donated $25,000 to Purdue to establish the scholarship fund.

Beginning spring 2004, Purdue will offer seven graduate-level courses within the newly developed Cement Manufacturing Technology concentration, which was developed jointly by Purdue and MTC. The program is offered to qualified individuals who wish to work towards a master's degree through participation in media-delivered graduate courses. Graduates will be awarded either a Master of Science or Master of Science in Engineering, depending upon the undergraduate degree held.
