The Brazilian cement producer Cia de Cimentos do Brasil placed an order with F.L.Smidth for engineering and supply of key equipment at a total value of US$11.1 million.

The project covers installation of a complete 2,000 tpd cement clinker production line at Cia de Cimentos do Brasil's existing facility in Campo Formoso, Bahia State, Brazil.

The project has been under way for two years, and during the past two months the contract was negotiated by F.LSmidth's subsidiary in Sao Paulo. Under the contract, F.L.Smidth will be responsible for the imported portion of the engineering and all equipment supplies. The domestic portion of engineering and auxiliary equipment supplies will be handled through F.L.Smidth Ltda in Brazil.

The new production line is expected to enter into operation in March 2003.
