Cemex acquires Costa Rica's Cementos del Pacifico

Cemex announced that the Costa Rican stock market authority has confirmed that the company's tender offer to acquire the remaining outstanding ordinary shares of Cementos del Pacifico has been completed. Cemex acquired just under 1.6 million shares representing 79.5% of the total shares outstanding at a price of US$44.90 per share. The total amounted expected to be paid in the transaction is about US$72 million.
The sole Cementos del Pacifico plant is located 180 km northwest of San Jose, with additional grinding facilities located in the city. The plant has one dry process line with an installed capacity of 850,000 mtpy.
With the completion of the offer, Cemex increases its ownership stake of the company to 95.3%. The total enterprise value per ton was US$122.
