The IEEE West Coast Cement Industry Technical Conference (www.ieeepcaconference.org/west), October 8-9 at the Green Tree Golf Course Clubhouse in Victorville, Calif., will include technical presentations and workshops, capped by an afternoon tour of California Portland Cement’s Mojave plant. CalPortland recently erected wind turbines along mountain ridges bordering the operation, which is now deriving 11 percent of electricity from wind power.
