Taiheiyo Cement’s U.S. Subsidiary to Return to Black

According to Nikkei Asian Review, after five years of red ink in its U.S. business, Taiheiyo Cement expects to return the segment to profitability in the fiscal year that ends March 2015. Taiheiyo Cement President Shuji Fukuda noted that this would help prop up the group as demand related to reconstruction in Japan from the 2011 earthquake and tsunami diminishes.

Martin Engineering Supports Los Cabos Fundraiser Organizers of the 8th Annual Sabor a Cabo (Flavors of Cabo) food and wine festival have announced that the Dec. 1, 2013, event raised more than $90,000 to benefit local institutions and charities such as the volunteer fire department and Red Cross in Los Cabos, Mexico, where emergency services must be provided on limited funding. Martin Engineering provided support this year by purchasing two VIP tables at the event, contributing $18,000 to the cause and treating 20 guests to an unforgettable evening highlighted by delicacies such as oysters on the half-shell, lobster bisque, smoked duck breast and Koji beef tenderloin.

Donaldson Reveals Officer Changes, Board of Director Selection

Donaldson Co. Inc. announced the following officer changes, effective April 1st:

Charles J. McMurray, senior vice president and chief administrative officer, will retire after 33 years of service. McMurray joined Donaldson in 1980 and has held key management roles in the company’s operations in the U.S. and Europe, and with the company’s joint venture with Caterpillar. Over McMurray’s career, he also held other senior leadership roles, including vice president of human resources and senior vice president of industrial products, before assuming his most recent role.
