Titan America’s Pennsuco Goes ‘Pink’ The employees of Titan America’s Pennsuco plant cemented awareness of breast cancer in October by painting parts of its plant pink. The massive complex that contains a cement plant, limestone quarry, aggregates operation, block plant and ready-mix facility showed its dedication to beating breast cancer by coating the crushed stone area with a “fuchsia” glow.

Cemex Begins $18 Million Housing Project in Dominican Republic

Construction has begun on 186 units of affordable housing in San Pedro de Macoris, a province of the Dominican Republic. The homes are part of the first stage of the Altos del Higuamo project, which includes the construction of 568 houses with a total investment of approximately $18 million, according to a statement released by Cemex. The first 60 units will be delivered in December 2013.

City Council, Regional Agencies Host Meeting About Lehigh Cement

According to the San Jose Mercury News, the city council of Cupertino, Calif., hosted a forum in early September to update residents on regulatory agencies overseeing Lehigh Southwest Cement’s Cupertino facility and to learn about the latest mandates from the agencies. Updates were given by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (Air District), County of Santa Clara, and San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board.
