ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions (USA) Inc. and McInnis Cement announced a sales/purchase agreement valued at $129.16 million ($150 million CAD) for the manufacturing and supply by ThyssenKrupp of a complete cement production line.

The new 6,000-mtpd clinker production plant is currently under construction on a green field site in the Port-Daniel-Gascons area of Quebec, Canada. The plant will be complete with a POLCID proprietary process control system to monitor and control all aspects of the new modern facility. A POLAB laboratory automation system will assure product quality in every phase of the process. The McInnis plant is scheduled for commissioning in 2016 with full production starting later that year.

The main components include: a 1,800-mtph quarry crushing plant; a raw material reclaim system comprised of a bridge reclaimer for limestone and four portal reclaimers for other additives or fuel; Quadropol vertical roller mills for raw grinding; and a blending silo for raw meal storage with a capacity of 10,000 mt. The Polysius kiln line will consist of a 5-stage, 2-string Prepol AS-MSC preheater, a 5.2- x 75-m Polro rotary kiln and a Polytrack cooler with intermediate roll crusher. Cement grinding will take place in two Quadropol vertical roller mills with Sepol high-efficiency separators. The plant will be rounded off with three cement silos (120,000-mt capacity) as well as cement truck and ship loading facilities.
