In September, Lafarge North America celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Missoula, Mont., cement terminal. On that occasion, the company also recognized the facility's safety record of no lost work time by personnel due to accident or injury during its 30 years of operation. Located near the Missoula International Airport, the terminal was designed to ship up to 10,000 metric tons of cement annually. With improvements in technology and operational efficiencies, the site now greatly exceeds that original capacity each year. Its three cement silos have a storage capacity of 1,000 mt.

The Missoula terminal receives powdered cement by rail from Lafarge cement plants in Seattle, Wash., and Richmond, British Columbia. Lafarge products have been used in local area developments including the St. Patrick Hospital, the Reserve Street Improvement project, as well as the Missoula International Airport expansion.
