Argos Announces New VP of Caribbean, Central America Division

Argos CamiloRestrepo 200On Feb. 16, Argos announced Camilo Restrepo, who is currently the vice president of innovation of the cement company, was appointed as the new vice president of its Caribbean and Central American Regional Division, replacing Mauricio Ossa, who was recently named CEO of Odinsa.

Restrepo started working for Cementos Argos in 2005 as a research and development analyst, the beginning of a successful career within the vice presidency of innovation, subsequently becoming environmental professional and r&d manager, and ultimately leading to his appointment as vice president of innovation, in 2012. In this last function, he achieved some major milestones, such as the consolidation of the company’s value-added products portfolio, the launch of various important new projects and businesses, and the construction and opening of the Argos Innovation Center.

We are also very grateful for the way in which Mauricio Ossa contributed to the growth of this regional division, which currently generates close to 20 percent of Argos’ revenue and which represents a great deal of our company’s multiculturalism,” Jorge Mario Velásquez, CEO of Cementos Argos, said.

Restrepo studied environmental engineering at the School of Engineering of Antioquia and holds a master degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Maryland. He is currently finishing his MBA at the Goizueta Business School of Emory University, Atlanta.
